Interocean Investment in Newfoundland

September 5th, 2017

Interocean Canada is pleased to announce that Captain Grant Jones has joined the Newfoundland team as Marine Superintendent. Grant is a Master Mariner and Tow Master who has held senior marine positions on offshore drilling rigs, both moored and dynamically positioned, and he brings additional local marine expertise to the business as we continue to expand in Canada and, in particular, St. John’s.

Grant will work closely with Country Manager Matt Sibley from our St. John’s office which has recently relocated to a larger, purpose built office suite adjacent to Conception Bay Highway.

Interocean Canada are also pleased to announce that, in addition to new offices, we are continuing to demonstrate our firm commitment to Newfoundland by agreeing a lease on a 50,000 ft2 (4645 m2) quayside storage facility which will be the new base for our expanding inventory of mooring equipment. Our facility is located at Long Pond which, with a quayside water depth of 8.5 metres and a 135m turning radius can accept the largest support vessels.

Long Pond is ideally placed geographically to support offshore operations and, with direct quayside access, our facility supports cost effective mobilisation and demobilisation of marine and mooring equipment to and from offshore support vessels.

Matt Sibley will be attending Offshore Europe 2017 as part of the Newfoundland delegation and can be found at the Interocean Canada stand 5D130.
